If you are on Medicare, you’ll be getting one or two Annual Notice of Change letters in your mail or email this September about your 2025 coverage and costs. This information is important for you to make your choices during Medicare’s Open Enrollment Oct. 15 – Dec. 5.
It is important that you read your Annual Notice of Change from your Medicare Part D prescription drug plan or your Medicare Advantage plan.
- The Notice will inform you whether your Part D plan will be offered in 2025 and if it is how much your
premiums, deductibles and copays will be different in the coming year. - A Medicare Advantage Notice of Change will tell you if your doctors and hospitals will remain in the plan’s network.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has provided a special subsidy to prescription drug insurers for 2025 with the goal of avoiding exorbitant premium hikes.
The Medicare Plan Finder on Medicare’s site www.medicare.gov will make available comparisons of Medicare Part D and Medicare Advantage plans for 2025.
Also consider accessing the State Health Insurance Assistance Program website at www.shiphelp.org or call toll free 877-39-2675 to learn if there is a SHIP counselor in your area who can provide, at no cost, information about Medicare and Medicare Advantage prescription drug plans.
